Can I Use The iPhone With Verizon?

My mom bought me a new iPhone and I want to know if it's possible to use it with Verizon.
I don't really like AT&T's service, and I've been told that there is a way to use it with another company.
Is it true? Will I be able to use my iPhone with Verizon?

Unfortunately you can't. Verizon uses the CDMA technology and AT&T uses GSM.
GSM is the most popular standard for mobile phones in the world and requires a sim card, the iPhone comes with a sim card.
CDMA doesn't use a sim card so it will not work.

There is a way to use your iPhone with a carrier that uses sim cards like T-Mobile or Cingular. Verizon phones do not use sim cards.

Also if you unblock it and use it with another company, voicemail will not operate as it does with AT&T. But other features will function normally.
