How Do I Cancel a Bid On Ebay?

Is there a way I can cancel a bid on Ebay because it went to high?
I already asked a coworker and he said I can't, because I entered a binding contract. But I don't think that's the case, there should be a way to cancel a bid on Ebay.
Can anyone tell me who do I cancel my bid?

You can cancel your bid. Just click the on "retract bid" link at the bid history page.
You can only retract your bid if you placed it before the last 12 hours of the auction and you are retracting before the last 12 hours too.

If the bid was placed within the last 12 hours, you can only retract within an hour after placing the bid.

If the bid was placed before the last 12 hours, you cannot retract it if the listing is on its 12 hours already.

If you can't cancel your bid, I suggest you contact the seller and ask him to cancel your bid from his end then.

Keep in mind that it's against eBay rules to withdraw from a purchase after the listing has ended.
