Eight CIA workers have been killed in a suicide bomb attack in south-eastern Afghanistan, the worst attack against intelligence officials since 2001.
A bomber wearing an explosive vest entered Forward Operating Base Chapman in Khost Province, near Pakistan.
Several other people were reported injured by the blast.
They were in the base's gym when the bomber entered and blew himself up.
A full-scale review of security at the base is underway following the attack.
The Taliban claimed their man was able to gain entry to the site because he was a member of the Afghan National Army.
In a separate incident, four Canadian soldiers and a journalist were killed in a roadside bomb attack in Kandahar.
