It appears that a networking issue at RackSpace took many websites offline this afternoon december 18 2009, starting at around 4:30 p.m. EST (with confirmation from Rackspace about 15 minutes later).
My website went down due to the outage. Nothing works and I've been calling them without any response.
What cause the Rackspace outage and are they comming back soon?

Rackspace’s ticketing area is down, and Rackspace.com is down.
They suffered networking problems in its Dallas data center on today dec 18 2009, causing an outage, many of the Web's hot sites to go down as well.
Based on the notifications I have been getting from Rackspace recently, they have been doing generator and chiller maintenance. The last being a “DFW Generator Maintenance Notification” on the 26th around 7pm. And before that, “DFW IST Chiller Maintenance” on the 25th around 7pm also.
The official Rackspace blog had not confirmed the outage by Friday afternoon, but several sites affected either posted blogs or tweeted about the outage. Mashable and TechCrunch were affected.
