The Incredible Mr. Limpet: Johnny Depp?

Have you ever seen that movie: "The Incredible Mr. Limpet"?
They're going to make a remake for 2011 and I believe they want Johnny Depp to be involved, he may be the main star in the movie.
The thing is he has not confirmed yet. He has not signed on, however, and in any event the pic would not go into production until next year.
Do you think he will accept to do The Incredible Mr. Limpet? It's one of the most interesting movies ever made.

A computer-animated remake from Warner Brothers starring Jim Carrey was originally scheduled for 2006, but never produced. On June 12, 2009 an announcement was made that Kevin Lima (Enchanted, Tarzan, A Goofy Movie) will be the director of a remake of The Incredible Mr. Limpet.
They want Johnny Depp and are willing to pay him a lot of money but the final word belongs to Johnny Depp.
If he says no, then they'll have to call someone else.

Just look at the cover of the original movie and it almost requires Jon Cryer play this part.

Jim Carrey would be far better in this roll than Depp, but Jon is PERFECT for it. Perhaps even better than Knotts.

How many classic movies can that let one man desiccate? If Depp does this, it will be bad, bad Karma. He is much better used for original movies. I thought Willie Wonka was a mistake for him.

Jon Cryer is MR Limpet, Charlie Sheen should be the CO.
