Duane Hegadone is super rich. He was born in 1920 and is best known for his huge property in Palm desert – California, having some covered area of 64,000sq.ft. The area is 16 times of the officially approved limit. Hegadone blamed the discrepancy on the engineers who overlooked the permitted limit and seek approval from the local authorities for extended area.

The saga started when the millionaire, laid down his plans for a gigantic building before the authorities. The officials were ecstatic about the $30 Mention project. They considered the home to be a real jewel- a thing of the art and a model of unique architecture. It was even planned to raise the funds by publicizing the architecture in global magazines hence Hegadone was allowed an eight time extension to the covered area limit that was 32,000sq.ft. The home was to have a rooftop built of copper mimicking mountains and walls made of rocks that would have to be brought from the hills, but the dreams have all but shattered.

The home ruined the natural beauty of the area as per locals. It just crushes the beauty of serene night with shining artificial lights and it has blocked the natural view of the mountains. To cut the story short villa has turned out to be exact reverse of everything conceived of it and the exceeding the area limit granted is on top of it.

Duane Hegadone also owns a Yacht named after her wife Lady Lola. The yacht is even equipped with fully functional golf course and speed boats to bring back the stray golf balls. The yacht also has its own helipads and helicopters, a submarine which can accommodate three people at a time.
