Yes, I realize today is columbus day and is a federal and national holiday but I'm expecting a very important package sent from Germany, Europe and it was supposed to arrive today, and it is really important to me so I wanted to know.
Is it possible that today the mail still gets delivered?

Nope... today all postal carriers have off.
So no mail today. You have to understand that today is columbus day, and it is recognized as a federal holiday, this means that no mail will be delivered and no banks will be open.
You'll have to wait until tomorrow to get your mail.
