First, coach Larry Fedora released a statement mourning the death of Peter Wilkes, and now the school said that Peter Wilkes is not dead and that he is alive. What happened?
Why did the coach say he was dead when he actually wasn't? Is Peter ok now, is he going to play football again?

The Associated Press reports that Peter Wilkes is alive and he is being treated in a critical care unit for what police say is under investigation as an accident or self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Wilkes is in grave condition after a gun accident in his home on Thursday night.
Supposedly Wilkes suffered an irrecoverable injury Thursday night. But he's struggling for his life right now.
Unfortunately, Peter Wilkes died early Saturday morning in Memphis TN from his injuries. Peter was a wonderful young man with so much potential. His passing has devastated the tight knit community and most of all his family. Peter was an organ donor, so his spirit will live on. Arrangements are incomplete but are being handled by White-Ransom Funeral Home in Union City, TN. They have a webpage.
