Pi Day History & Jokes?

It's Pi Day on March 14, 2011. At my school, we are going to celebrate the day and talk about the history of it.
I have no idea when Pi Day started, where can I find some history facts about the holiday?
Also, we're supposed to make pins. I want mine to have a funny joke, does anyone know about good sources for Pi Day jokes?
Thanks a lot for your help.

Every year on March 14 math lovers around the country celebrate pi, the irrational number commonly abbreviated to 3.14.
Pi Day was created by physicist Larry Shaw in 1989.

A few jokes about Pi Day:

Q: What do you get when you cut a jack o'lantern by its diameter?
A: Pumpkin Pi!

Mathematician: 'Pi r squared'
Baker: 'No! Pies are round, cakes are square!'

'I love the way you pi'

You can also draw a picture of a pie with a piece cut out, wrote in the formula for the area and circumference of a circle, and underneath write "Give me a piece of that pi!"
