Hockey Player Tom Cavanagh Death?

Tom Cavanagh, a Rhode Island hockey player who ascended to the NHL has been found dead in a parking garage at the Providence Place mall.

Cavanagh graduated from Harvard and played 18 NHL games for San Jose between 2007 and 2009.

A graduate of Toll Gate High in Warwick, R.I., and then Harvard University, Tom Cavanagh was not as gifted as some AHL players but eventually made it up to San Jose of the NHL through lots of hard work.

Tom Cavanagh's death was caused by “multiple traumatic injuries due to blunt force trauma.” He was 28 years old.

His father said that he suffered from a mental illness.

Police said Tom Cavanagh's body was found at around 11:30 a.m. Thursday. His car was discovered in the garage with his wallet inside.

Cavanagh was drafted in 2001 by the Sharks, and played his first NHL game in the 2007-08 season. He scored his first NHL goal and played in 17 games the next season.
