The buildup for Monday night's game between the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings was bizarre: All the talk was about the quarterback who wouldn't be playing and a stadium the game wasn't even in.

Brett Favre is not going to play, he is going to be sitting on the bench throughout the whole game.

Mother Nature couldn’t extend Brett Favre’s streak and she couldn’t slow down the Giants either. After flying to Kansas City and then to Detroit, the Giants finally faced the Vikings and beat them for the first time in the past five meetings.

There were times when the Giants looked every bit like a team that had spent most of the last 40 hours waiting around in airports and hanging out in hotel rooms, but even that effort was enough to beat the Vikings, 21-3, last night at Ford Field.
