Beyonce Heat Perfume Commercial Scandal?

Beyonce's TV commercial for her perfume, Heat, is part of a scandal. It was recently banned from daytime rotation due to its "provocative" imagery by the U.K.'s Advertising Standards Authority.

The advert features Beyonce singing Fever in a skimpy red dress and though Beyonce is always wearing clothes in the Heat commercial, she is certainly provocative, apparently too much for daytime TV in the UK.

Although the new ad is now officially banned during daytime, ASA still allows the commercial to air, only after 7:30 PM, which is considered primetime.

Have you watched Beyonce's Heat Perfume commercial? Do you consider it too much for TV?

I saw the commercial. The ad is heavy on cleavage, but stops just short of exposing Beyonce's full breasts. It opens with her lying on what looks like a table.

In addition to the bathtub shots, the Heat commercial also features the sweat-soaked singer slinking down a hallway in a low-cut satiny red dress, stroking the wall suggestively with her hand before writhing against a mirror.

I don't consider the advert to be too innocent, but it's not an ad that is supposed to be banned. The daily newspapers in London have a "Beauty Of The Day" posing without clothes every day.

Coty, which has partnered with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker and CÚline Dion to create celebrity-branded perfumes, responded to the ad complaints by defending the sensual TV ad as a reflection of the singer's "personal 'sexy chic' style," and not overtly graphic or explicitly sexual.
