Applebee's is carrying on their tradition tomorrow in honoring and thanking Veterans and Active Military with a free meal by inviting them to their neighborhood restaurants on Veterans Day.

At Applebee's, veterans and active-duty military will receive a free meal on Veterans Day. The menu will include: 7-ounce house sirloin, bacon cheeseburger, three cheese chicken penne, chicken tenders platter, oriental chicken salad, fiesta lime chicken and double crunch shrimp.

Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar restaurants expects to give away more than 1 million free meals to veterans and active-duty service personnel starting at 11 a.m. on Veterans Day Thursday at nearly all of its 1,900 locations including those in the Lehigh Valley.

Besides Applebees free meal, you can also enjoy these opportunities.

Hooters — Veterans and active-duty personnel will receive 25 percent off their bill Thursday. The restaurant at 6035 Carlisle Pike, Hampden Twp., is open 11 a.m.-midnight.

Chili’s Grill & Bar — Meals ordered off a limited dine-in menu are free for veterans and active military personnel.

Subway — Select Subway franchises Thursday will give veterans and active duty military a free 6-inch sub.

Besides Applebee's, other nationwide restaurant chains are having special deals for veterans.

Golden Corral will have its 10th annual free “thank you” dinner for veterans, active-duty personnel, and those serving in the reserves or National Guard this coming Monday.

T.G.I. Friday’s: Purchase one entree and your veteran's entree is FREE from November 11 - November 14. Must print and bring in coupon. Must wear uniform or present valid military or veteran’s ID. In addition, each veteran will get a $5 bonus bites card to use on his/her next visit.

Chick-fil-A of Garner: Offering ALL Military Personnel (active & retired) a FREE meal from select menu choices from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 11. They ask that you please show your ID to receive your free offer.

If you're going to Applebee’s, remember that the offer stands from 10 a.m. to closing on Thursday.

Also remember that veterans and active duty military will need to show proof of service, including a service card, medal, and a photograph in uniform, or wearing a uniform.

* Viceroy Snowmass Resort - $45 hotel rooms
* Uno's will give military and veterans a free entrée or individual pizza with the purchase of an entrée or pizza.
* BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse will serve a free lunch entree or free one topping mini-pizza for dinner to active-duty military and veterans.
* Hy-Vee Supermarkets with in-store dining will serve a free breakfast buffet to veterans from 7 to 11 a.m. Some stores plan special activities.
* Outback Steakhouse will give a free bloomin’ onion and a beverage to veterans from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday.
* Sam’s Club is giving away free Hugo canes to veterans in need of mobility assistance. The 36,000 cane give-away started today and ends Friday. A Sam’s Club membership is not required.
