Caitlin Burke has become very popular, thanks to her remarkable solve of a seven-word puzzle on Wheel of Fortune, with just one letter showing.

Caitlin Burke surprised host Pat Sajak when she asked for the chance to crack the 27-letter answer with only a solitary 'L' and the clue 'phrase' on the board.

The winning moment, which aired on Friday, November 5, was so quick and decisive that it had some pundits wondering if Caitlin was less than honest in her win.

Caitlin is a New York fashion magazine editor and she won a $6,500 trip to the Caribbean for solving the puzzle.
So how did she do it? Was it just luck or does she have a system to figure out puzzles?

Growing up, Burke played both "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune" with her father.


The only help she had was that she knew there was an apostrophe in the first word and that a previous contestant had wrongly guessed there was an 'R' in the phrase.
