Mel Gibson Car Crash Accident?

Mel Gibson was involved in a car crash accident in Malibu Sunday night.

It happened about 8:35 p.m. while Gibson was driving his 2008 Maserati southbound on Malibu Canyon Road south of the tunnel, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Since Mel Gibson has a history of drinking, was he drunk when he crashed?

Mel Gibson lost control of his 2008 Maserati Quattroporte and struck a rocky hillside in a rural area of Malibu Canyon Sunday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Mel Gibson wasn't drunk, but says he didn't know how his car happened to have drifted into the hillside. He wasn't hurt and no charges were filed.

Gibson sustained moderate damage to his car, which he was driving alone. Authorities say do not suspect alcohol was involved in the accident.
Gibson is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department with possible domestic violence charges involving former girlfriend, and mother of his child, Oksana Grigorieva.

Gibson cooperated with officers and was given a lift home by a friend after his vehicle was towed away.
