Free Slurpee Day 2010 Canada?

I know that today July 11 is Free Slurpee Day in the United States.
i got this invite on facebook about the same thing happening in Canada. i can't tell if it's real or someone just made it up. i don't want to go down there and look dumb trying to get a free slurpee if Canadian stores are not participating of Free Slurpee Day 2010.
Can anyone confirm if it's the same thing for Canada?

Also, if today is free Slurpee day, how would i ask the cashier to give me a free one?

It is Free Slurpee Day in Canada too.
Convenience store 7-Eleven will give out free 7.11-ounce Slurpees on Sunday to celebrate its 83rd birthday.

The retailer plans to give away 5 million of the free frozen drinks in special birthday cups. So go early, especially if it's still hot like today.

If you're expecting the giant size 48 ounce glacier size, you'll be disappointed. The free Slurpee is just under 8 ounces, actually 7.11 ounces (get it?), but all you have to do is ask at the cashier counter if they have free Slurpees, and they'll give you a cup.
