Les Paul died in White Plains, N.Y., of complications of pneumonia. His significance as a musician, an innovator of recording-studio technology and creator of a visionary line of solid-body electric guitars made him an international icon.
A private funeral will be held in New York. A service in Waukesha, Wis., will be announced at a later date. Details will follow and will be announced for all services and any public memorial tributes.
