Cherry Blossom 10 Miler DC Results?

The National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington is almost over.

Sunday is the final day of the festival, which celebrates spring and the blossoming of the cherry trees given to the city in 1912 by Japan. Saturday's events include a parade along Constitution Ave. and a Japanese street festival. There is also a 10-miler run scheduled for Sunday.
I can't wait to get to know the 10 miler results.

Race Director Phil Stewart says the following about today’s event:

“We take great pride in our tradition of bringing the world’s finest athletes from every era to the streets of Washington, DC each year. Washington, DC is a world-class city and it merits a world class running event."

What do you think the results will be for the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler?

The Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run was officially announced today. This event would be the latest event and closing event for 2010 Cherry Blossoms celebration.

Although the bloom is already off the signature blossoms, some 15,000 registered runners will take part in the 38th Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run on Sunday morning. The race starts and finishes at the Washington Monument, running on Memorial Bridge, Rock Creek Parkway, the Tidal Basin and Hains Point in the interim.

Four-time Cherry Blossom winner Bill Rodgers (1978-81), 62, will run; Rodgers had surgery for prostate cancer in 2008. Another icon in the running world, 1984 Olympic marathon gold medalist Joan Benoit Samuelson, 52, will make her Cherry Blossom debut. Samuelson set an age-group record of 2:49:08 when she finished the 2007 Olympic trials marathon.

The 10-mile Cherry Blossom Festival race will run Sunday at 8 a.m. Metro will open two hours early -- 5 a.m. -- to accommodate runners. The transit agency suspended all weekend maintenance work for the festival's final weekend.

I will post the results of the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler here as soon as they're available.
