Apparently firefighters responded to the scene after the fire was reported, and then Carina Schlesinger and Daniel's remains were found in the house. Authorities identified the bodies, but do not have a motive. Friends say their 18-month relationship had been rocky over the last few months.

First Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor Peter Warsaw, Jr. revealed that the incident happened on Wednesday. At around 7 pm that day, a fire at Red Hill Road was reported to the police.
