Saints Logo Meaning, History?

Today my brother downloaded the New Orleans Saints Logo and placed it as a Wallpaper in our computer.
When you look at the big logo in vector format you realize it is a really nice design with a perfect font.
What is the history and meaning of the Saints Logo? What was the origin of the logo, who originally created it and what does it mean?

The Saint Logo its called a Fleur-de-lis. it can mean many things. The Saints logo is in the Endzone of the Super Bowl.

The fleurs-de-lis logo ROCKS! GO SAINTS!
Below you will see a picture of the official New Orleans Saints Logo. The NFL Saints colors are black and gold, as you'll see on their jerseys in today's Superbowl 44 as well as on the cheerleaders and fans in the stands.

Saints Logo Awesome

The fleur-de-lis is a stylized lily or iris that is used as a decorative design or symbol. Meaning: It may be at one and the same time, political, dynastic, artistic, emblematic, and symbolic, especially in heraldry.

Couldn't find much about the Saints logo history or origin.
