Is The Blair Witch Project Real?

are there any websites with pictures or true facts about the blair witch being real?
It looks real and someone told me the footage of the movie The Blair Witch 1 is real footage from 3 kids who got lost at the woods.
I searched for it, but all I could really find was stuff that had been made to go along with the movie. I highly doubt the parents would allow people to see their kids' last moments caught on film.
The Blair Witch does look real but maybe that's how they wanted to look like.

It's original. It was one of the first movies to use the internet to hype it up, building on a self-created mythology. It's not real however, it's a fake documentary. What occurred in the movie was entirely pretend. The "actors" are all still alive if you would like some proof.

The build up to the release of the DVD was EPIC. It was portrayed by the media and adverts as a real life event. Actors/directors/producers names were never released.

The publicity campaign tried to convince people the Blair Witch was real so they would go see the movie and visit the shooting locations.

All you have to do to understand that this is just a work of fiction is to sit through and read the closing credits. It clearly states that it is a work of fiction and not based on any real legend or story.
