E.D. Hill Cancer?

The commentator from Fox News E.D. Hill was on The View this morning discussing her planned elective double mastectomy that she is going to get next week.
E.D. Hill said she's going to let surgeons perform an elective double mastectomy on her to prevent breast cancer.
E.D. Hill is doing this because a lot of women in her family has breast cancer.
What is this procedure, what are they going to do to E.D. Hill to prevent breast cancer?

E.D. Hill is doing the right thing. When her whole family is affected by breast cancer this is the smartest thing to do.

E.D. Hill's sister has already undergone a prophylactic double mastectomy to prevent breast cancer.

In the procedure, the surgeon will slice E.D. Hill's chest open and remove all the breast tissue from my chest. That's it. Then she can have reconstructive surgery so her breasts look ok.
