Cayman Islands Earthquake Today 2010?

First Haiti, then Venezuela and now the Cayman Islands?
The Cayman Islands was rocked by a 5.8 earthquake today, january 19 2010.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury.
In Haiti the Earthquake was a dissaster.
Why are there some many earthquakes now, and should we be afraid something like this can happen in the US?

A 5.8 earthquake shook the Cayman Islands, south of Cuba on Tuesday morning, reports said.
The reason there are so many earthquakes in the region is because of the plates, they're moving right now.
Today a strong earthquake rocked Guatemala and parts of El Salvador.
The USGS says it hit Monday morning about 60 miles (97 kilometers) southwest of Guatemala City, where it was felt by many residents.
CNN spoke with a person in Grand Cayman who said there were no initial reports of injuries.
The last earthquake to hit the Caymans was in December 2004.
