Mall of America Field at Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome?

The Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, often simply called The Metrodome, is a domed sports stadium in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.
For some reason the field was renamed Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in October 2009.
What is the reason behind the rename?

The name Mall of America Field at Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome is a bit too lomg.
It really is part of Zigi Wilf's plan to get some private funding for a new stadium because he is running into a lot of problems with obtaining public funding. Not to mention there are already two new stadiums in MN (TCF Bank Stadium and Target Field), so the legislators are not too eager to pony up more money. Also, the timing of this announcement is done to maximize interest - a 3-0 team playing there on Monday night against their arch rival and former team of the starting QB.

As for the "weirdness" of the name - no worse than all those college basketball places that keep the name of the arena and name the court after a coach, like at Syracuse - Jim Boeheim Court at the Carrier Dome.
