Are Cats Color Blind Like Dogs?

My cat sometimes looks confused while he plays with his toys. Is it because cats are color blind just like dogs are?
He always had issues with his sight, and I was wondering if it's possible to check whether he is color blind or not. Somebody told me once they are all like that, just like dogs, is that true?
I never thought about this before, I thought that he was able to see colors but now I'm starting to think that if all he can see is grey, that must be really sad. So, are cats color blind like dogs or are they able to see colors?

Experts once thought that cats were color blind like dogs, but after many studies they have concluded that cats can distinguish a few colors.
They can't exactly see like us, but they're not completely color blind like dogs who just see everything grey.
What's cool about cat's sight is that they can see better during the night. That's something that helps them hunt for mice.
So even though they're partially color blind, they have better sight in the dark.
