There are many supernova occurrences every year but what makes this one stand out is its proximity to Earth.
You will be able to see the supernova if you own a telescope because it's hard to see with your eyes only.
Also, the sky needs to be clear and very dark. A supernova looks like a regular star that glows continually and is a little more brighter than the rest.
September 8 is the day when it's going to reach its peak, that will be the best day to see it.
