Firefighters have not yet gained any containment. The fire continues to burn unabated on steep ridges covered in dry grass and timber between Pinewood and Flatiron reservoirs, according to Loveland fire officials.
Residents of the Bitterroot Gulch, Quillen Gulch Road, Sawmill Road and Bone Elk Road neighborhoods near Loveland have been ordered to evacuate their homes.
At least one structure has been damaged, the city of Loveland said in a statement.
The Red Cross established a shelter at the Church at Loveland for displaced residents. About 30 people have so far checked into the shelter. An overflow shelter will be set up at Walt Clark Middle School in Loveland if need be.
