Courage Under Fire True Story?

Is the movies Courage Under Fire a true story or maybe inspired by real world events? Or is it just another hollywood script.
I heard it was based on a true story, that's why I'm asking.
But you never know with these movies.

The movie Courage Under Fire is not a true story.
And about the Historical accuracy of the movie, the Medal of Honor was awarded to a woman, Dr. Mary Edwards Walker, an American Civil War doctor, but not for valor in combat. A White House aide played by Bronson Pinchot makes the distinction.

You are wrong
Courage Under Fire is in fact based on true events...it is based on the recovery of an downed, isolated F-16 pilot and the subsequent personnel recovery efforts by and of "Bengal 15" in February 1991. Know your facts before spouting inaccuracies...
