Gabrielle Giffords Was Sarah Palin's Target?

U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords had been hosting a "Congress on Your Corner" event, a public gathering to give her constituents a chance to talk directly with her, when she was attacked from about 1.2 meters away. A 22 year-old man shot her in the head.

Gabrielle Giffords had been named as a political campaign target for conservatives in Novemberís elections by former Alaska governor Sarah Palin for her strong support for the health reforms of President Barack Obama.

Sarah Palin currently has a "target list" on her website, which is basically a map of Democrats who support health care reform featuring a gun sight.

Is Gabrielle Giffords' death in the shooting related to Sarah Palin's list of targets?

Sarah Palin stated the GOP needed to take "aim" at these races and to launch the "first salvo in a fight." These statements and images could have induced a man to violence.

Regardless of why the shooting took place, there will be a lot of talk about Sarah Palin's map in the coming days.

Gabrielle Giffords was among as many as 19 people reportedly wounded in the shooting, and according to Congressional sources, several people on the Democrat's staff were among the wounded.

Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was standing behind a table outside the Safeway greeting passersby when the gunman approached her from behind, held a gun about a foot from her head and began firing.

Eight others were shot, including three of the Arizona Democrat's aides, they are currently being treated at the hospital.
