How Do I Unlock My Laptop Keyboard?

my little sister has pressed something on her other laptop and she cant write anything using the keyboard, what is it that I have to do to unlock the keyboard?
and then it got turned off so now i cant login to my laptop can someone please help me
it's a dell latitude d630? I can use my mouse and click open programs. I tried looking in my control panel, but there's nothing in the 'keyboard' that tells me it's locked. Tell me how I can unlock it.

Shutdown, make sure the keyboard is plugged into the port securely, then reboot.
If that doesn't work and you still can't unlock your laptop keyboard start your laptop in safe mode using F8 key and check the settings of tuchpad and keypad.

Look on your keyboard. On most laptops there is a function key that will lock the keyboard. You would need to pres the [Fn] key and the appropriate [F#] key. In mine the combination would be [Fn+F1] keys. If she shuts down to re-activate the keyboard she looses whatever she is working on.

I hope you find the solution.
