Palo Alto Power Outage Caused Plane Crash?

There was a plane crash in Palo Alto today, three people have died after the plane crashed into a house.

The plane was a Cessna 310 and crashed shortly after takeoff from the Palo Alto Airport. Also Residents are reporting power outages in Palo Alto.
Are the power outages somehow related to the plane crash? How so?

Palo Alto appears to be suffering a fairly widespread power outage. Even traffic lights are out.
Apparently, the power outage is related to a plane crash in East Palo Alto which started at least one house on fire, and took out power across Palo Alto and East Palo Alto.
The plane crash likely occurred because of "mechanical'' difficulties, or "poor visibility,'' because of this morning's soupy fog.

This is what happened:
The plane took off, hit the tower, causing a wing to shear off and land on top of a home day care. The plane lost altitude, and fell to Beech Street, where it skidded down the road in the densely packed residential area. As it screeched down the street, cars caught on fire, which spread to surrounding lawns and burned a second house on Beech Street.

The crash has affected the web too. The plane crash in Palo Alto has lead to a power outage at Facebook headquarters.

The one bit of good news so far is that while some of the wreckage landed on a day care center, apparently there were no children in the building at the time.
