Experts with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission have scrutinized the picture and say the orange color is not genetic.
If you look at the photo closely, you'll notice its teeth are orange too, the color is definitely not natural.
Not sure yet how this alligator came to rusty orange, but its genes had nothing to do with it.
