Verizon Announcement & Press Conference: January 2011?

Verizon is holding a press conference on January 11, 2011 that is widely assumed to be the announcement of a Verizon iPhone.

The company hasn't confirmed that the announcement is for the iPhone but many bloggers are confirming it.

Is the iPhone finally coming to Verizon Wireless? I'm tired of AT&T and I can't wait for a release date.

If Verizon does release the iPhone, will it be the same phone AT&T has right or will it be a new improved version?

Verizon CEO Lowell MacAdam took the stage at the press conference to announce that in early February, customers will be able to purchase iPhone 4 devices compatible with Verizon's CDMA network.

It will be the second carrier in the United States to offer the phone; AT&T has had the exclusive so far.

Verizon announced that the iPhone 4 will be available on the Verizon network starting February 10, and existing Verizon customers can pre-order beginning February 3.

Verizon revealed price information too. The iPhone will cost $199 for a 16 GB model with a 2-year contract. $299 will get you a 32 GB phone.
