Gloria Stuart was 100 years old and her cause of death was lung cancer. She acted in more than 40 films in the 1930s, but it was her role in “Titanic” that gained her the most recognition.
Gloria Stuart starred in dozens of films in the 1930s, working with top directors like John Ford and generally playing a beautiful blonde. She said at the time of "Titanic" that she spent most of those years angry and frustrated that she was not asked or allowed to play more.
In June, Stuart was honored by the Screen Actors Guild for her years of service and presented with the Ralph Morgan Award by "Titanic" co-star Frances Fisher.
