Is Dubstep And Techno The Same Thing?

What is Dubstep and what is Techno? Are they the same thing? I ask because I've listened to dubstep and techno and to me, they sound exactly the same.
Maybe dubstep has more WOOB WOOB WOOB but other than that it is exactly the same as techno.
What is the difference between the two genres of music besides the name? Which one is the most popular?
I believe right now it's dubstep because it's the only thing I hear on the radio but then again it can actually be techno.

Dubstep is originally from South London. Overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns defines it.
Techno emerged in Detroit, US. in the 1980's and it has an emphasis on the rhythm mostly.
They belong to different genres of electronic music. For the people who are just transitioning towards the new instrumental music, they can be difficult to differentiate.
I listen to techno and dubstep and they don't sound the same at all to my ears.
