Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler: Meaning & Translation?

What is the translation and meaning of the phrase Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler?
I've heard the expression many times back when I visited New Orleans.
What language does 'Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler' belong to?

I've also seen the phrase as 'Laissez les bon temps roulez' with a 'z' at the end.
I know it's related to Mardi Gras but I don't know the meaning.

Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler is a Cajun expression.
The exact translation and meaning in English is "Let the good times roll".

To french ears, the expression sounds like an awkward translation from English.
Most purist French speakers wouldn't say Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler. The equivalent phrase in French would be something like 'Que La Fete Commence.'

Thanks for the translation of the expression.
I was also wondering what it meant after hearing it hundreds of times.
