Ronald DeFeo, Jr. is an American murderer. He was tried and convicted for the 1974 killings of his father, mother, two brothers and two sisters. The case is notable for being the real life inspiration behind the book and film versions of The Amityville Horror.

He is still alive and is currently in prison.

Ronald Defeo Jr is currently serving 6 concurrent life terms for the slaying of his parents Ronald DeFeo, Sr. (43) & Louise (42) and his siblings John (9), Marc (12), Allison (13) & Dawn (18) at their residence on 112 Ocean Ave in Amityville on murdered his brothers, sisters and parents on November 13th, 1974 in Amityville, New York while they slept. These murders were the "basis" for the "Amityville Horror."

Ronald Defeo Jr claims he had heard voices coming from within his home in Amityville telling him to murder his family.

He later supposedly became a business partner with his defense attorney William Weber, in a bid to make a financial profit from the events surrounding the murders.

DeFeo is currently held in Green Haven Correctional Facility, Beekman, New York, and all of his appeals to the parole board to date have been turned down.
