Gary Matthews Jr Contract?

The Mets have now acquired a backup — good-fielding, modest-hitting Gary Matthews Jr. of the Los Angeles Angels.
To me, it screams that the Mets are concerned about Beltran's knee being a lingering issue over at least the remainder of his contract
What are the details of Gary Matthews Jr's contract with the Mets?

The Angels signed Gary Matthews Jr to a 5 year, $50 million contract. It is one of the worst contracts in baseball because of Matthews’ limitations as a hitter.
Gary Matthews Jr is owed $23 million over the final two years of his deal, and the Angels are expected to pick up most of the cost, making him a relatively inexpensive acquisition for the Mets.
The Mets will be paying $2 million of the $23.5 million total that Matthews is owed. The Angels will also receive relief pitcher Brian Stokes in return. Stokes went 2-4 with a 3.97 ERA in 69 games last season.

Gary Matthews Jr got screwed with the contract.
