Playbook: Blackberry Pad Tablet Price?

Today at the Blackberry Developer’s Conference in San Francisco, the Research in Motion President kicked off the event with the widely-anticipated news: a pad tablet of its own named Blackberry Playbook. So far it looks good and it seems it will be able to compete with the iPad.
What is the price of the Playbook from RIM?
How does the Blackberry's Playbook compare to the iPad, Apple’s own tablet device?

The Playbook is due early next year in the U.S., with international availability coming in the second quarter of 2011. RIM has yet to set an exact price but says it will fall in the lower range of prices for consumer tablets already in the suddenly congested market.

The Playbook is small and thin. RIM did a good job with the design. Because it has a 7-inch, 16:9 aspect ratio display, it is more rectangular than square. It looks sharp and professional. On the inside, the PlayBook runs off of a 1GHz dual-core chip and has 1GB of built-in RAM.

In addition, the company announced the BlackBerry Tablet OS, which will power the Playbook. The OS is built on the QNX Neutrino architecture, which the company touts as one of the most “reliable, secure and robust” architectures.
