Is The English Language Dying?

Today in English class one of my classmates mentioned that the English language is dying. I thought English was the strongest and most popular language in the world. How come it is dying? If we were talking about Latin, then it would make sense but English? I don't think so. What do you think?

It will always depend on the sense we are talking about regarding the former question. The standard of written English is definitely "falling" since people do not follow the rules of grammar and punctuation when writing in everyday talking. Regarding English dying as a world wide language, it will not fade away whilst most of the powerful countries have English as the main language such as USA, The United Kingdom and mostly Canada for instance.
