There arenít many details at this point, but you donít need details right now to realize just how sad this is. Itís never easy to understand why a person at such a young age passes away, and that case is no different here.
Henderson Police in Nevada released a statement that they will begin an investigation into the young American's death.

Blasberg, a charismatic golfer who was a former Pac-10 Player of the Year and member of the victorious 2004 Curtis Cup team, was a professional for six years, winning once on the Duramed Futures Tour in 2004 before qualifying for the LPGA Tour the following year. While highly decorated as an amateur, Blasberg struggled to reach the same heights as a professional. Her best finish was a tie for eighth.

When Corona High freshman Erica Blasberg was 3 years old, she rode in a golf cart while her parents, Mel and Debra, played. The first thing she learned about the game was to keep silent while other people were hitting.

Blasberg started playing competitively when she was 8. Now 14, she plays so well she has a lot of people talking about her. She's qualified for the California Interscholastic Federation girls' tournament June 8 at the Members Club in Murrieta. Competing against boys Monday and Wednesday, she tied for fifth place at the Mountain View League tournament and earned all-league honors.

The cause of death is being withheld pending an investigation.

But Erica Blasberg's father Mel Blasberg told the Riverside Press-Enterprise in California that his 25-year-old daughter might have committed suicide.

"At first glance, it looks like she might have taken her own life, but at second glance, something is very, very strange about it," Mel Blasberg told the newspaper. "We're waiting for the police to make an investigation."
