Texas Big Ten Expansion?

Is the Big Ten trying to recruit Texas for its expansion plans?
A source with ties to the Big Ten said that while most people’s attention has been trained on the conference stealing Missouri, there have been preliminary exchanges between the Big Ten and the University of Texas.
Is it really going to be Texas?
Texas already has rivalries with Texas Tech, A&M, and not to mention Oklahoma. I feel like they would never make the swap but it would be great for the Big 10. Any thoughts on the expansion?

Well Texas was brought up, so was Nebraska, and Mizzou. It may be random, but lots of teams are fighting to get into the Big Ten.

If the Big Ten follows through on expansion to 12 teams, the Big East could once again be a victim despite the latest rumor sending the Texas Longhorns, a fixture in the Big XII, to the Big Ten. I just do not see Texas joining the Big Ten in any scenario.

In a January interview with reporters before the BCS title game, Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds said Texas would not consider joining the Big Ten.
So there.

Opening up the state of Texas to the Big Ten Network would generate millions in revenue for the conference though.
