Obama Iraq Withdrawal 2010?

Obama implemented withdrawal plans from Iraq for 2010 and he kept his word. We voted in Obama so that he would pull us out of Iraq. And that actually happened.
Leaving Iraq means the country will have a budget increase that can help us with our economic troubles, don't you think?
Is Obama the right person to take credit for the troop withdrawal from Iraq? Should we thank him for this?

Obama said it himself, "we spent a trillion dollars at war, often financed by borrowing from overseas, this, in turn, has shortchanged investments in our own people, and contributed to record deficits. The Iraq withdrawal was the right move.

Barack Obama fulfilled on what had initially been his biggest campaign selling point to bring the US war in Iraq to a close – “to be as careful getting out, as we were careless going in”, as the president put it on the campaign trail.

Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki hailed the restoration of sovereignty to Iraq: "Iraq today is sovereign and independent. With the execution of the troop pullout, our relations with the United States have entered a new stage between two equal, sovereign countries."
Iraqi politicians, security officers and civil servants spoke of a daunting series of challenges they face between now and the end of 2011, when the last of nearly 50,000 remaining American troops assisting Iraqi forces are scheduled to have departed.
