Kristin Bentz: Talented Blonde?

For some time Kristin Bentz of the Talented Blonde blog has been telling the Tech Ticker audience that Abercrombie & Fitch was a stock headed for disaster. And for months, the stock has continued to climb to a series of new 52-week highs.

After the company reported dismal third-quarter numbers and earnings fell 39% the stock kept on rising.
Is Kristin Bentz, the talented blonde wrong? I used to think she was very smart and savvy but I highly doubt it now. What's her background?

Bentz believes short covering is responsible for some of the rally. At 14% of shares outstanding, short interest in the stock is very high, so she very well might be right on that point. Unfortunately, for her, being "right" has been a money-losing proposition.

Bentz served as the product manager for consumer equities at Lehman Brothers. Prior to Lehman, she was a retail and consumer analyst for Northeast Securities’ Independent Research Group and Ladenburg Thalmann. Most recently, Bentz was Senior Correspondent for TheStreet.com TV, joining TheStreet.com in August 2007 as managing editor of RealMoney.com. Kristin produced the weekly segment and podcast “Random Acts of Fashion” as well as reporting breaking financial news for TheStreet.com TV. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, a master’s degree in business administration from Fordham University Graduate School of Business Administration.
