Billy Bell Mono?

During the competition of So You Think You Can Dance, Nigel Lythgoe talked about two of the best dancers in the show: Billy Bell and Noelle Marsh.
Bell was forced to drop out of the show earlier in the week due to illness. It has been reported that he is suffering from mononucleosis, a virus often calling the "kissing disease."
Is mono a dangerous disease? Can you die from it?

Bell said he was feeling fine last Wednesday, when his place in the Top 20 was announced.

Mononucleosis, or mono, is often thought of as the 'kissing disease' and as an infection that only affects teenagers.

While you can get mono from kissing, you can also get it from other forms of close contact.
An old 'myth' about mono is that someone with mono will be sick for several months.
Although many kids do take several months to recover from mono, some are sick for a week or two.

It really is a myth that only teens can get mono, since even toddlers and preschoolers can get it. Most cases of mono do occur in older children though.
