Rest in peace, Christopher Hitchens. His death was expected, like you said, chances of surviving that sort of cancer are very few, if none. Of course, this did not came up as a surprise since Christopher Hitchens smoked a lot and that was going to cause his death one way or another. Regarding your latter question, I would say that one should not return evil for evil and you can't put out a fire with more fire. I'm an agnostic bloke by the way, neither Christian nor atheist but I consider too mean the fact of rejoicing over the death or disease of someone else like Christopher Hitchens. I don't wish cancer to anyone, it's one of the worst diseases anyone can have.
