Polling Hours: Election Day Vote?
What are the polling hours for the election date vote? What time do the polls open? What time do the polls close by state?
Will I get permission in my job to vote? Our employer didn't mention anything about giving us permission to vote. Is there a law that allow me to vote during work hours? Will I still get paid?

The opened at 7 this morning and close at 7 p.m.

Here's a list with the 2010 General Election polling hours.

Google has created an election voter map that pinpoints where you live and then gives you directions to your designated polling place. Another good resource is your state's secretary of state website.

About your job, employers of all sizes and stripes should be sure they know the law regarding this duty and right. The laws of nearly every state allow time off from work to vote, but whether or not other benefits such as paid time off are included, vary from state to state.

The time off that must be given to an employee can depend on their schedule and might permit the employer to not give additional time off for voting.

Good luck.
