Franklin DID sign the Constitution Ben Franklin DID sign the Constitution. Jefferson, Adams were in Europe at the time of signing. as was Franklin I'm sure other did not sign as well. Some people say he did but I don't know for sure. |

A lot of people considered "founding fathers" did not sign the Constitution. Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Patrick Henry.... Samuel Adams, John Hancock... The list could go on.... The "Founding Fathers" as originally described by Harding were those that participated as patriots in the American Revolution. That is a pretty broad description that you are trying to apply to 39 signatories of the Constitution. |

Who Did Not Sign The Constitution: Ben Franklin? Okay so I'm doing a biographical essay for school and I just want some concrete details or some background about Benjamin Franklin. There were people who actually went to the constitutional convention. But some people didn't sign The Constitution, why? I think Ben Franklin was one of the members who didn't sign.
